Shortlinks
The Shortlinks module allows you to create shortened links that can be placed directly after your domain name. For example:
www.domeinnaam.nl/actie
You can then redirect this link to the desired page. The advantage of this is that you have a simple link for (offline) communication and you can measure traffic from different sources. For example, to measure traffic to the same action but from different media, you can think of shortlinks like:
www.domeinnaam.nl/tv
www.domeinnaam.nl/radio
www.domeinnaam.nl/beurs

Create a shortlink
For creating a Shortlink, different values are possible:
- Shortlink: this is the short version of the link you want to communicate, for example '/shortlinks'
- Action: the desired action. You can set here that the short link leads to an internal page, external page (outside your own website), a "Not found" page or a "Page no longer exists" page. Depending on the chosen action, additional questions can be asked.
- Fields for measuring campaigns in Google Analytics (optional): the name of the campaign, source of the campaign (e.g. "Newsletter April") and the medium. These fields are recorded in Google Analytics when someone goes to this shortlink.
- QR code (optional): You can save the QR code as an image and include it in printed material. When someone scans the code with a mobile device, this Shortlink will open automatically.
Note!
Sometimes you just want to create a QR code for a particular link. Then note that a shortlink cannot be the same as the link the page leads to. So a shortlink to, say, https://www.iwink.nl/contact cannot be https://www.iwink.nl/contact.
